Stroud Brewery – Terms & Conditions (Website & Venue Use)

1. About Us

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the website and services provided by Stroud Brewery Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), including event attendance, venue hire, and purchases.

By using our website, booking an event, or attending the venue, you agree to these Terms.

2. General Venue Use (All Visitors & Attendees)

2.1 Behaviour

All guests must:

  • Behave respectfully toward staff, customers, and the local community
  • Follow all instructions from Brewery staff
  • Not engage in unlawful, disruptive, or unsafe behaviour

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse entry
  • Remove individuals from the premises
  • Cancel participation in events

…without refund where behaviour is deemed inappropriate.

2.2 Safety & Compliance

All visitors must comply with:

  • Health & safety requirements
  • Fire safety procedures
  • Licensing laws under the Licensing Act 2003

2.3 Food & Drink

  • No external food or drink is permitted unless agreed in advance
  • Alcohol must not be brought onto the premises
  • We reserve the right to refuse service

2.4 Personal Property

We are not responsible for:

  • Lost, stolen, or damaged belongings
  • Vehicles or items left on-site

3. Event Tickets & Attendance

3.1 Ticket Purchases

Tickets are:

  • Non-transferable unless stated otherwise
  • Non-refundable except where required by law

3.2 Event Changes or Cancellation

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify event details
  • Cancel events where necessary

If we cancel:

  • A refund will be issued
  • No additional compensation will be provided

3.3 Refusal of Entry

We may refuse entry if:

  • The event is at capacity
  • Safety concerns arise
  • Behaviour is deemed inappropriate

4. Venue Hire (Event Hirers)

The following applies to all private bookings and venue hire.

4.1 Agreement

All venue hire is subject to a separate Venue Hire Agreement, which forms part of these Terms.

By booking, the Hirer agrees to comply with all conditions outlined in that Agreement.

4.2 Key Responsibilities of the Hirer

The Hirer is responsible for:

  • The conduct and safety of all attendees
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws
  • Preventing damage to the venue

4.3 Insurance

Where required, the Hirer must:

  • Hold valid public liability insurance (£5,000,000 minimum)
  • Ensure third parties also hold appropriate cover

4.4 Health & Safety

The Hirer must:

  • Conduct risk assessments where appropriate
  • Report incidents to staff
  • Maintain safe use of the space

4.5 Prohibited Activities

The Hirer must not:

  • Permit unlawful or unsafe activities
  • Use the venue in a way that risks licensing compliance
  • Bring external food or drink without permission

4.6 Bookings & Payments

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit secures the booking
  • Full balance due 1 month prior

Cancellation terms:

  • Up to 4 weeks: no charge beyond deposit
  • Within 4 weeks: 50% payable
  • Within 1 week: 100% payable

4.7 Cancellation by Stroud Brewery

We may cancel bookings where:

  • Legal or licensing risks arise
  • The venue becomes unavailable

In such cases:

  • Payments will be refunded
  • No further compensation is due

5. Website Use

5.1 Accuracy of Information

We aim to ensure all information is accurate, but:

  • Details may change without notice
  • We do not guarantee completeness or accuracy at all times

5.2 Intellectual Property

All content on this website (including branding, images, and text) belongs to Stroud Brewery Ltd and may not be used without permission.

5.3 External Links

We are not responsible for content on third-party websites.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss
  • Our liability is limited to the amount paid for services

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

7. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events outside our control, including:

  • Extreme weather
  • Government restrictions
  • Supplier failures
